Favorite hunting method and why:
I originally started out with a .22 bunny busting on a family property and having a desire for diversity I purchased my first Bear bow and pursued this discipline for quite a few years before getting into hunting dogs and then returning back to hunting with rifles. Having tried all aspects and hunting disciplines I have to say I’m most comfortable with the rifle, it presents many variables when shooting at distance and is exciting read new situations and delivering a shot precise on target. And you can’t beat the smell of gunpowder in the morning!
Favourite place to hunt: Dividing Ranges NSW or NT
Most memorable hunting moment:
Every hunt with my daughter Kenzie, she is my eyes and ears when the going gets tough and can spot a good pig from a mile away! She has been there with me on some massive hunts and never complains once!
Who has had the biggest influence on the way you hunt and enjoy the outdoors?
My grandfather was a sporting shooter and reading his sporting shooter mags introduced me to the hunting scene and from there I was pretty much self-taught on game tracking and habits, I love hill climbing because not only do you get a great sense of accomplishment when you reach the top but the view is sweeter, air is fresher and you also come across game others are too lazy to work for!
If you had to choose one species of game to target for the rest of your life what would it be and why?
Feral Pigs. They are just an exciting game to chase, whether it is with rifles or getting the adrenaline pumping with dogs you just can’t beat the big boars!
Closely followed by rabbit for the constant challenge they present!
